Community roundtable discussion on report on the right to health during the COVID-19 pandemic in Kenya

On 8 April GI-ESCR hosted community members from Dandora, Mathare, and Mukuru in Naiorbi, Kenya at a roundtable discussion on the report: Patients or customers? The impact of commercialised healthcare on the right to health in Kenya during the COVID-19 pandemic. The community members had participated in the research carried out between September and November 2021, which informed this report.

GI-ESCR’s Right to Health Officer, Rossella de Falco, presented the report and the community members had an opportunity to share experiences with one another and confirm the report adequately captured their issues and demands. They also provided input into the plans for the dissemination and advocacy building up on the report, presented by GI-ESCR’s Africa Representative, Ashina Mtsumi. This community discussion was part of preparations for the launch of the report schedule
