Panel Discussion on Healthcare Commercialisation and the Right to Health at the World Bank Civil Society Forum 2022

A discussion on the right-to-health consequences of private healthcare provision took place at the World Bank Civil Society Policy Forum 2022. The panel was organized by us and a wide range of co-sponsoring partners.

Our Programme Officer on the Right to Health, Rosella de Falco, participated as a speaker in the discussion and presented the findings from our recent reports on COVID-19 response in Kenya and Nigeria. She presented case studies showing how private sector engagement in healthcare might have negative impacts on the enjoyment of the right to health.

The panel aims at analysing the WB group’s strategy to respond to Covid-19 via mobilisation of private investment, thus posing challenges to healthcare equitable access.
