GI-ESCR contributes to awareness campaign on the Abidjan Principles organised by civil society organisations in Niger
This 19 June 2021, GI-ESCR participated in a semi-virtual awareness campaign on the Abidjan Principles entitled Protecting the right to education together in Niger. The event, commemorating the International Day of the African Child, was organised by the Syndicat National des Agents de la Formation et de l’Education du Niger (SYNAFEN) and the Alliance Globale pour l’Education et le Développement (AGEDE).
It was attended by various stakeholders including several civil society organisations.
The objectives of the campaign were to:
Highlight the presence and relevance of Nigerien civil society organisations;
Help Nigerien policymakers and non-State actors understand the Abidjan Principles;
Raise awareness on the Abidjan Principles more generally.
GI-ESCR seises this opportunity to thank SYNAFEN and AGEDE for taking this initiative which strongly contributes, at the national level, to the ongoing Abidjan Principles campaign.
GI-ESCR is looking forward to furthering engagements with partners in the West African region at large, around the popularisation and mainstreaming of the Abidjan as well as other areas of common interest.
