GI-ESCR delivered oral statement on item 3 at HRC51

In light of the general debate on item 3 on the promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development, GI-ESCR delivered an oral statement on the report on ESCR recovery framework of the COVID-19 pandemic by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

In the statement, GI-ESCR highlighted the need for comprehensive recovery policies and practices to address conditions of unsustainability and inequality, and to consistently integrate human rights, especially economic, social, cultural and environmental rights.

We invite the High Commissioner to work with all stakeholders to ensure the international human rights framework is used as road map to ensure a transition towards a future that enables the enjoyment of human rights for all on a thriving planet.
