Promoting "Universal and Quality Public Services for the construction of the new Chile"

Together with Public Services International (PSI), the Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR), organised a two days event in Santiago, Chile to debate to promote universal and quality public services as the foundations of a just and equitable society. The event will take place on April 26 and 27 in Santiago, the meeting "Universal and Quality Public Services for the construction of the new Chile", which will be attended by civil society organizations and trade union representatives affiliated to PSI in Chile and in Latin America and the Caribbean that will travel to Santiago to participate.

On this occasion, and in tune with the social dialogue that both PSI and GI-ESCR have promoted between workers, civil society and government representatives, we will share with representatives organizations, the Chilean Legislative Power, the Constitutional Convention, civil society and labour representatives the importance of public services in guaranteeing human rights, including gender equality and social justice, their strengthening to respond to inequality and ecological collapse, its financing, and the role in the construction of the new Chile in the framework of the Constituent process and the new Constitution.
