GI-ESCR's ED participation in a UN HumanRights Workshop on economic, social, and cultural rights

The goal was to promote these rights within the context of addressing inequalities in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic

A three-day workshop brought together key stakeholders for a discussion on practical ways to further enhance and strengthen the promotion and protection of economic, social and cultural rights within the context of addressing inequalities in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The irresponsible behaviour of corporations and the super rich with regard to taxation is depriving countries of resources during a time of record profits. It is time for human rights bodies to recognise that fiscal policies are human rights issues. These revenues must be invested in the services and tools necessary for the realisation of economic, social and cultural rights.
