As part of the organizations of the Central Group of the Manifesto for the Reconstruction of Social Care Organization (Public Services International, DAWN, ActionAid, GATJ, TJN, WomanKind, CESR and FEMNET) and in the framework of the XV Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), we held a parallel event on November 7 in Buenos Aires. Aires, Argentina, titled "The centrality of Public Services for the construction of Comprehensive Care Systems". Our Ed Magdalena Sepúlveda was part of the panel of experts.

The event to discussed various experiences of care systems launched by national and local governments, and based on these good practices, look at how to strengthen them by integrating them into a well-being approach.

Likewise, the participating organisations made their contribution with a feminist, human rights, tax justice and decent work perspective, so that their results serve as inputs to struggle regionally and internationally in favor of the coalition that is part of the Manifesto for Care.

Objectives of the activity:

• Exchange experiences on the construction of care systems and the role of public services and their workers;

• Look at the role of fiscal policies and fair taxation to strengthen public financing of care systems;

• Address the dilemma of financing the system and the relationship of state action with other care agents: the delimitation and control of community and market competencies,

• Claim the centrality of the workers in the action of the states and identify the common challenges and strategies for their incidence in the construction and development of public care services,

• Strengthen the political framework of care from a human rights perspective for those who care and are cared for.
