Event: Local struggles for housing rights, in the context of environmental degradation, urbanisation and climate change

On 6 March 2020 the Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, and housing rights advocates from Cameroon, Nigeria and El Salvador, will come together for a discussion on the right to adequate housing in the context of urbanization, environmental degradation and climate change.

Speakers will highlight ground-level experiences from the Global South of how urbanization, environmental degradation and climate change are impacting housing rights in local communities and how communities are leading with solutions to protect and fulfil rights in this context.
