Advocacy Update on Rights to Housing, Land and Productive Resources and Other Emerging Issues Highlights from February - July 2015

This publication represents the fourth in our series of updates highlighting important advances in the areas of human rights and housing, land and access to productive resources.  It is meant to help inform advocates, policy makers, civil society organizations and other stakeholders about recent developments in the field, and draw attention to emerging areas of work.

This edition includes information related to the Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing; developments around the world related to the rights to water and sanitation; advances in the area of human rights and access to land including women's access to land and other productive resources; non-State actors and extra-territorial obligations including corporate accountability; and the post-2015 sustainable development agenda.

It also includes a special ‘IN FOCUS’ section; this edition on Advancing Women’s Empowerment through Eliminating Discrimination in Rights to Land, Housing and Water - Presentation by Ms Barbara Bailey, member of the UN Committee on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women.
