This 01 June 2021, Vicente Silva, GI-ESCR’s officer for Latin America, Octavio del Favero, Executive Director of Ciudadanía Inteligente and Sergio Chaparro, Programme Officer at the Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR) sign this insightful op-ed published in La Tercera, oen of the most prominent media in Chile, on the relevance of the Principles for Human Rights in Fiscal Policy for the Chilean constitutent process.

The article sets out the relationship between ESCR and fiscal policy in the framework of the constitutional debate in Chile.

The 15 Principles for Human Rights in Fiscal Policy were published last 28 May. Magdalena Sepúlveda Carmona, GI-ESCR’s Executive Director, was part of the committee of experts convened by seven Latin-American civil society organisations, in consultation with social movements and regional actors, to draft these important Principles for the Constituent process in Chile.
