Joint meeting held during the UN Commission on the Status of Women

Last week, GI-ESCR was proud to host a meeting during the UN Commission on the Status of Women, held in NYC, to advance women's rights to land and productive resources in Kenya. 

The meeting was held together with Shruti Rana, Professor of International Law Practice and Director of the International Law and Institutions Program at Indiana University. Professor Rana and her students are currently working on a practicum project with GI-ESCR to research the implementation of treaty body Concluding Observations on Kenya respective to women's rights to land and productive resources. 

The meeting was also attended by GI-ESCR's partners and colleagues, including FIDA-Kenya, Landesa and Human Rights Watch.
