Join GI-ESCR’s session Advancing Human Rights through Gender-Responsive Public Services: A feminist alternative to privatisation, as part of the Global South Women’s Forum, which will take place online this year. It will gather feminist activists, experts, and practitioners working to counter the privatisation and commercialisation of public services that are essential for the realisation of women’s rights and the advancement of gender equality.

A moderator will spark the debate between key speakers that will share their insights and experiences on the fields of care, education, and health. During the session, all participants will be encouraged to engage in the conversation and to contribute to the analysis related to the following key questions:
• How has the privatisation and commercialisation of public services impacted women’s rights?
• Why and how do we need to re-organise, own, manage and fund public services to advance gender justice?
• What are the alternatives to privatisation and commodification proposed by feminist social movements, activists, and grassroots women’s rights organisations?
