International conference on privatisation in education with UN Special Rapporteur - Paris 18th March

The Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural rights, the Sciences Po Paris Human Rights Clinic, and the Right to Education Project are organising a public conference in Paris on 18th March on privatisation in education (in French). There will be a lecture from Kishore Singh, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to education, on his last remarked report that highlighted the little-known danger that privatisation in education as it’s taking place, in particular in developing countries, is bringing for the realisation of human rights. It’ll be followed by presentations of case studies on Chile and Nepal, and by reflections from Olivier de Schutter, the former UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food, and current member of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. This event is open to anyone to attend. Note that people who want to attend should register online: http://www.sciencespo.fr/evenements/inscription/inscription.php?code=xp82V5&id=3708. For more information on the event, see http://globalinitiative-escr.org/?p=1842, the Facebook event, and below.
