Event: 2019 IIEP Strategic Debates: Breaking Barriers in Education

How does the right to education apply in a world that is constantly changing, where climate and migration emergencies are fast rising, and where private actors are taking a more prominent role?

On 24 October 2019, join GI-ESCR legal and research adviser Sylvain Aubry, and Delphine Dorsi , Executive Coordinator for the Right to Education Initiative for the next IIEP Strategic Debate: Breaking Barriers in Education.

The GI-ESCR is now working on the implementation of the Abidjan Principles, Sylvain Aubry and Delphine Dorsi bring their expertise to IIEP UNESCR, to look at how this new milestone tool can put the right to education into practice, and their potential to address some of these emerging crucial questions.

The Abidjan Principles were adopted in February 2019 by over 50 eminent experts on the right to education, following a three-year consultative process with decision-makers, communities and practitioners. Learn more about the Abidjan Principles at www.abidjanprinciples.org
