Announcement: Rodrigo Echecopar appointed as Director of Strategy and Advocacy
We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Director of Strategy and Advocacy Rodrigo Echecopar. Rodrigo offers GI-ESCR strong and visionary new leadership, and that he will be able to build on the existing strengths of the organization.
Rodrigo was previously the Deputy Director of Ciudadania Inteligente, an NGO focussed on promoting democracy and citizen participation. He is also a founder and was the first Director of Nuestra America Verde, a movement advocating for a Latin American green transition.
Rodrigo brings to GI-ESCR his economic and public policy background. He also has a lot of experience building social movements and first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of political parties. Rodrigo studied an MPA in Innovation, Public Policy, and Public Value at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose at University College London (UCL). He also holds a degree in economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Rodrigo said:
‘I am excited to join the GI-ESCR Team at such a challenging moment. The climate emergency, social inequalities and women’s struggles require structural economic and social reform. GI-ESCR is a forward-thinking organization that has the expertise and global outreach to help shape new alternatives through the lens of human rights and I’m thrilled to be part of that endeavour’.
Rodrigo will be based in Barcelona. We hope you will be able to meet Rodrigo in your work.
