Next week join us in two sessions jointly convened by GI-ESCR, AIDA, and GAGGA at the Global South Women’s Forum on Sustainable Development convened by IWRAW-AP to hear and learn about the community narratives and solutions that are at the center of the Global South Feminist Vision of Environmental Justice.

The first session on Women for Climate Justice will be held next Monday 13 September, 8PM - 10PM GMT+8 and will aim to convene representatives of civil society organizations and grassroots social movements across different communities in countries of the Global South to:

  • Strengthen understanding of climate justice from the perspectives and experiences of women human rights and environmental defenders, as well as women-led groups, collectives, and movements; and

  • Explore collective action scenarios for strengthening alliances for the promotion of climate and gender justice.

The second session on Catalysing the Transformative Power of Renewable Energy for a Feminist and Low Carbon Future will be held next Wednesday, 15 September, at 8PM - 10PM GMT+8 and will seek to detonate the debate amongst feminist activists and civil society organizations advocating for a fossil-fuel-free world and new alternative renewable energy solutions that enhance gender equality and the realization of women’s rights. The event will aim to highlight:

  • The challenges that the dominant fossil-fuel-based energy model represents for women’s rights; and

  • The alternative community-based policy responses to address the gender and human rights deficits in current energy models.

Do not miss these fantastic and engaging conversations that will provide opportunities to share visions of ecofeminist alternatives to tackle current global challenges on climate and inequality.
