Sunday, 25 March (8:30 to 11:30am UTC-06:00), GIESCR will co-organise the workshop: Privatisation has failed: How can public education systems be fixed? Exploring accountability and transparency. The focus of the workshop is to explore the potential of different forms of accountability and transparency to radically transform and improve public education. Register for the workshop here!
Wednesday, 28 March (5:00 to 6:30pm UTC-06:00), GIESCR will present on the panel: Privatisation of Education in Francophone Countries: A Separate Case?Océane Blavot, of GIESCR will look at privatisation of education in Mauritania, and Sylvain Aubry, will discuss privatisation of education in Haiti and the role of international donors.
Thursday, 29 March (11:30am to 1:00pm UTC-06:00), GIESCR will present on the panel: Are Public-Private Partnerships in Education Acceptable from a Human Rights Perspective? Sylvain Aubry, of GIESCR will draw on the recently evaluated public-private partnership in Liberia to lead a discussion on how using the criteria set out under international law can transform reflections on education policies.
