Climate change, poverty and human rights – Event at the UN Human Rights Council
What are the human rights implications of climate change for persons living in poverty? This is the question that will be discussed at a side event on 28 June at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
We will hear the views of the Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, the International Labour Organisation and a human rights defender from Brazil. We will also hear from the Ambassadors of Fiji and Ecuador. The event is organized by GI-ESCR, Franciscans International, the Center for International Environmental Law and ATD Fourth World and is co-sponsored by Fiji and Ecuador.
